Not every identity check takes place where a stable internet connection is available. Whether in public transport, at access control points, at events, in companies, or in security-critical infrastructure – digital credentials must be verifiable reliably at all times. A lack of network connectivity must not become a security or process risk. Many current wallet solutions rely on communication with central services or trust registries for verification. If this connection is unavailable, authorizations or credentials can often only be verified to a limited extent or not at all. Especially in mobile or high-availability deployment scenarios, this is a decisive disadvantage. IDealWALLET pursues a different approach. In addition to the OpenID4VC technical standard of the EUDI Wallet (in accordance with eIDAS 2.0), we also support DIDComm-based identity ecosystems. As a result, digital credentials (Verifiable Credentials) can also be verified cryptographically offline. Every digital credential contains a digital signature from the issuer. This signature, as well as the underlying trust chain, can be validated locally without requiring a permanent internet connection during the check. This allows for securely determining whether a credential is authentic, unaltered, and issued by a trusted authority. The result is reliable identity verification – regardless of network availability. At the same time, processes are accelerated, resilience is increased, and new areas of application are enabled – from mobile inspections and public transport to government agencies, industry, and critical infrastructure. Your benefits • Secure verification of digital credentials – even without an internet connection • Cryptographic verification of signatures and trust chains directly on-site • Support for the technical standards of the EUDI Wallet as well as DIDComm-based identity ecosystems • Higher resilience and maximum availability • Ideal for mobile applications, access control, government agencies, mobility, and critical infrastructure
